Glossary term
Real Exchange Rate
The real exchange rate refers to the value of a currency adjusted for inflation differences between two countries. It reflects the actual purchasing power of one currency compared to another. Unlike nominal exchange rates, it provides a more accurate measure of competitiveness in international trade and helps businesses and policymakers understand the true economic value of currency movements.
